MOMPRENEUR INSIGHT ON A SATURDAY NIGHT, MARCH 5, 2016

wine-woman-relaxed

Today consisted of chores, bill paying, organizing, playing with the kids, working on my eldest son’s school activities, promoting an important playdate event on Tuesday and planning ideas for future events.

Gavin and I had a birthday party to go to at 4:30pm at MyGym for his best friend Jack from his preschool. I said to myself, “I have an hour and fifteen minutes to send out information for the next Business Mastermind Meeting and to put together a gift for his friend Jack.”

I hustled and put together the description along with the visual graphic and text. I use a special computer application for my fliers and graphics. This computer application is a little quirky because sometimes it does not save changes immediately when you download them.

It’s 4:20pm, I have Jack’s birthday gift beautifully wrapped. My husband dressed Gavin in the cute outfit I picked out. I sent out the Facebook invites for the next Business Mastermind Meeting.

Gavin and I got to the birthday party on time. My cell phone was not charged up because all of the work I was doing from my phone earlier today. I caught a few pictures of Gavin at the beginning of the birthday party before my phone went dead. I loved watching Gavin enjoy his best friend’s birthday party. I was not able to take any more pictures, so I was more of an active participant in the party.

When I got home, I noticed that there was a typo on my visual graphic. Apparently, the computer application did not save my recent changes as fast as the Microsoft programs would. OMG!!!! I could not fix it right away. My husband and I had to pick-up his car because it was being serviced at his local car shop. Driving to the car shop, I was mortified at my mistake at first. How embarrassing! But driving back home I had a realization.

I am a mother and wife first. My business comes after those priorities. I am not only a mompreneur but I am solo-preneur. I am going to make mistakes. I am not perfect.

Instead of focusing on the negative, I am happy that I was able to take Gavin to his best friend’s party and get so much done in one day.

It’s 9:05pm, now it’s time for a glass of wine.
